Sir,

We were interested to read this paper by Hanna et al as we have seen a case of bicondylar osteochondritis dessicans affecting both knees in a patient with spondylo-epiphyseal dysplasia tarda.

We therefore disagree with the statement "no cases of OCD affecting both femoral condyles in the same knee have been described before", which appears in their discussion. Green and Banks described a case of bilateral bicondylar OCD in 1953 (Fig. 7-A: Case 7).1
